Allen Wimbush

Mr. Allen “Duck” Wimbush, age 63 of Griffin, passed away Monday, April 1, 2013 at Brightmoor Hospice.
Mr. Wimbush was born on June 14, 1949 in Griffin to the late George “Bo Jack” Wimbush and the late Christine Wimbush. He was a member of 8th Street Baptist Church where he served on the Sr. Usher Board. He loved to play golf and pool anytime he got the chance.
Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Nettie Wimbush; daughter, LaQuita Wimbush; sons, Jonathan Dodson, Tony (Sandra) Anderson, Allen Sanders, Jermaine Sanders, Malik Ali, and Darius Ali all of Griffin; sister, Linda (Hurbert) Champion of McDonough; brothers, George Wimbush of Newark, N.J., Daniel (Dorothy) Wimbush, David Wimbush, Harold Laster, and Clifford Laster all of Griffin; 18 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Allen “Duck” Wimbush will be conducted on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at 8th Street Baptist Church. Reverend Antoine Lucas will officiate. Interment will follow in Griffin Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit the family Friday evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
