Mrs. Allie Marie Horne Rodgers , 71 of Kingsland passed away early afternoon on Friday, September 10th, 2010 at the Hospice of the Golden Isles in Brunswick.
Mrs. Rodgers was born in Nahunta, Ga. on January 20th, 1939 and is the daughter of John Barney and Ruth Bertha Poppell Wainwright. Mrs. Rodgers was employed at Gilman Paper Company as an inspector and later became a devoted housewife. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Mrs. Rodgers is survived by her daughter, Jacquelyn Maria Ricketson of Kingsland; her sons Joseph William George of Brunswick and Jackie Dwain Barber, Jr. of Kingsland; her brother James P.(Sue) Wainwright of Blythe Island; her grandchildren, Chad George, Angela Clark, Terry Crawford, Russell Allan Morgan, Ashley Leanne Ayala, Ryan Barber, and Jack Barber, III; and her great grandchildren, Mercedes Villanueva, Bianca Ayala, Ashton Crawford, Regan Williamson, Cole Clark, Dalton Clark, Kyra Morgan and Kassie Morgan. Besides Mrs. Rodger’s parents and her husband, John Carl Rodgers, she was also preceded in passing by her sisters, Hedy Elizabeth Head and Ruthie Mae Wainwright and her brothers, Jackie Barney Wainwright and William Phillip Wainwright.
Calling hours for Mrs. Rodgers will be from 6 to 9 PM Sunday, September 12th, 2010 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Monday, September 13th, 2010 in the chapel at Kingsland First Baptist Church with Pastor John Jenkins and Rev. Vernon Dillingham presiding.
Pallbearers will be Chad George, Terry Crawford, Russell Allan Morgan, Ryan Barber, Jack Barber, III and Johnathan Horne. Honorary pallbearers will be John Pierson, Don Johnson, Dewayne Wainwright and Jeffery Wainwright.
The committal service will follow in Lawnwood Cemetery in Kingsland.
