Mrs. Anita Louise Gale , age 79 of St. Marys, Ga. passed away in the early morning hours of Monday, October 9 th , 2017 at the Senior Care Center in St. Marys, Ga.
Mrs. Gale was born on November 23 rd , 1937 in Folkston, Georgia to the late Lee and Louise Huggins. The family moved to St. Marys when Mrs. Gale was 12 years old. She was a graduate of Camden County High School, class of 1956, and played basketball for 5 years as a Camden County Hurricane. On June 28, 1956, she married the love of her life, Charles Gale. Mrs. Gale loved fishing, camping, music, and spending time with her family. It was a joy for her to cook for family dinners. She was a dedicated employee of Georgia Power Company. Mrs.
Gale retired in 1992, after 20 years of service.
Mrs. Gale is survived by her beloved husband, Charles William Gale of St. Marys, Ga.; her daughters, Karen (Robert) Bailey of Woodbine, Ga. and Denise (Scott) Teston of Kingsland, Ga.; her sister, Sharon (Morris) Peeples of Kingsland, Ga., her grandchildren, Mandy Schumacher, Ryan Bailey, Brooke Knox, and Jordan Sanes; and her great-grandchildren, Andrew, Jacob, Bryson, Nolan, and Levi.
Calling hours for Mrs. Gale’s family will be from 10 am to 11 am Thursday, October 12 th , 2017 at the St. Marys Methodist Church in St. Marys, Ga. Funeral services will begin at 11 am at the church with Pastor Tom Jones presiding. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in St. Marys, Ga. Pallbearers will be Donnie Hanner, Roger Robinson, Lewis Gordon, Jim Bridger, Larry Standard, and John McDill.
