Arthur Garner

Mr. Arthur Floyd Garner, Jr . age 74 of Kingsland, Ga. passed away unexpectedly on Monday July 24 th , 2017 at Southeast Georgia Health Systems in St. Marys, Ga.
Mr. Garner was born on July 20 th , 1943 in Oklahoma City, Ok. He is the son of the late Arthur Floyd & Della Conner Garner, Sr. A proud member of the Marines, he was able to explore and appreciate many countries throughout the world while serving his country. Being a Staff Sergeant in the Marines was an accomplishment he was most proud of.  After the military, Mr. Garner was able to continue his love of travel and exploration, with many years spent as a coast-to-coast truck driver. Mr. Garner loved to recall sights and stories from the 49 states he often traveled through. After retirement, many mornings Mr. Garner could be found at the Harrah Senior Center playing dominoes with other long-time residents of his hometown. In 2010, he moved to be closer to his children and enjoyed many years as a Georgia resident.
Mr. Garner is survived by his children, Tammy Grey, Debra Pamplin & Andrew Garner all of Kingsland, Ga.; his sister and her husband, Sue and Bob Smith, of Harrah, Ok.; his sister-in-law, Cheryl Garner, of Oklahoma City, Ok.; his brother and his wife, Paul & Jan Garner of Moore, Ok.; his grandchildren, Kaitlyn Marie Pamplin, Courtney Friend & Christopher Welch all of Kingsland, Ga.; and his former wife, Barbara Garner of Kingsland, Ga.
He was preceded in death by his son, Anthony Garner, and his brother, Raymond Garner.
Mr. Garner will be inurned with military honors at the Jacksonville National Cemetery in Jacksonville, Fl. Wednesday, September 6th, 2017 at 11 am.
