Mrs. Barbara Jean Tyre, age 79 of St. Marys, passed away on Monday, July 19th, 2021 at Southeast Georgia Health System in St. Marys, Ga.
Mrs. Tyre was born on June 6th, 1942 in Screven, Ga. to the late Robert and Ella Mae Beckham.
Bobbie Tyre was a woman who enjoyed her summer nights on her property in Nahunta surrounded by her friends and family. Another place she loved to be was in the Blue Ridge Mountains and she travelled there often. She enjoyed fishing; however, she would never throw a fish back, camping, boating and sitting in the river allowing the water to flow over her washing her worries away. When not in Nahunta she enjoyed watching her Western movies with her husband John Tyre. She also enjoyed watching her grandchildren grow-up and play. Bobbie enjoyed the simple things in life and was the “glue” to the family. She never knew a stranger she would give her shirt off her back and never ask for it back. She loved her nieces and nephew like they were her own. Denise, Dawn, Bobbie Jo, Rick, Brandy, Sandy, DJ, Kenny, Donald and Tina.“Granny was a sweet woman to her family and friends love, Cheyenne.”
Mrs. Tyre is survived by her husband, John M. Tyre of St. Marys, Ga.; her daughters, Diane (David) Johnson and Nicy Jean Pritchard all of St. Marys, Ga.; her brothers, RL (Diane) Beckham of Browntown, Ga., Randy Beckham of Blackshear, Ga., and Ronnie (Maudie) Beckham of Winder, Ga.; her grandchildren, Van (Emily) Pritchard, Jennifer Pritchard, Kayla Johnson, and Haleigh (Jake) Carter; her great-grandchildren, Amber (Michael Lord) Sheffield, John (Tamber) Sheffield, Bethany Sheffield, Hannah Pritchard, Savannah Pritchard, Christina Pritchard, Boe Carter, and Cheyenne Carter.
Besides her parents, Mrs. Tyre also joins her daughter, Billie Jo Smith in Heaven.
A visitation will be from 10 am to 11 am on Thursday, July 22nd, 2021 at Coastal Camden Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 11 am in the Woods-Wainwright Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Franklin Peacock presiding. Interment will be at Lawnwood Cemetery in Kingsland, Ga. Ricky Beckham, Jake Carter, Van Pritchard, John Sheffield, Michael Lord, Kenny Beckham, and Donald Beckham will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be David Johnson, the workers at Kraft Bag, and the Eastern Star of Kingsland.
