Mr. Basil “Cookie” Cook, age 74 of McDonough, passed away Monday, September 24, 2012 at his residence.
Mr. Cook was born on June 28, 1938 in Charlotte, North Carolina to the late Henry Egbert Cook and the late Bernice Hackett Cook. He was self-employed as a carpenter and was a Veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Cook was a member of Worthville Baptist Church in Jackson, Georgia.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Claxton Cook; son and daughter-in-law Randy and Tina Cook all of McDonough, GA; sisters, Zoe Purser of Charlotte NC, Aleta Lee of Newnan, GA: grandchildren, Erica Taylor of Covington, GA; great-grandchildren, Lashay, Matthew, and Triston Taylor.
Funeral Services for Mr. Basil Cook will be conducted Thursday, September 27, 2012 in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Home. Pastor Bob Hooks will officiate. Interment will follow in Fairview Memorial Gardens in Stockbridge, GA. Friends may visit the family on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
