Benjamin Bennett

Benjamin Ardis Bennett passed away unexpectedly on the afternoon of May 27th near his home in Palatka, Florida.  Ben was born in Savannah, Georgia on October 3rd, 1985 to parents Kim Paulette Hair (Bennett) Myers and Robert Payne Bennett.  Upon moving to St. Marys, Georgia at age five with his parents, Ben attended schools in Camden County from Kindergarten through 12th Grade.

Ben was quite the people person and was loved by all who came to know him.  His passion for food and his outgoing people skills led to his full-time career in the restaurant industry.  Ben also loved all kinds of music and was skilled in playing many different musical instruments.  Very much involved in the Northeast Florida music scene, Ben played and performed in the two popular local bands Kid You Not and Friendly Fire.

Ben is survived by his wife of nine years, Amy Higginbotham Bennett, along with his beloved pup Hayden both of Palatka, Florida; his mother and stepfather Kim and Lenny Myers of St. Augustine, Florida; and his father and stepmother Robert and Kim DesJacques Bennett of St. Marys, Georgia; as well as several Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.

A Memorial Service/Celebration of Life for Ben will be held on Thursday evening, June 5th, at 7:00pm, at St. Marys Methodist Church in St. Marys, Ga with the Rev. Roy White officiating.

An additional “Performance Party/Celebration of Life”gathering is being planned to take place in the St. Augustine/Jacksonville area in the very near future.  Be on the lookout for more information concerning this upcoming event.
