Mr. Benjamin Thomas (Bennie/Hobo) Cottle, Sr. , age 57 of Woodbine passed away early Friday morning, March 16th, 2012 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident at Harriett’s Bluff.
Mr. Cottle was born on September 28th, 1954 in Starke, Fl. He is the son of the late David Edgar Cottle, Sr. and Bettie Lee Bevel Cottle. He was a lifelong resident of Woodbine and was employed by Bayer Corp. Science. He had just celebrated his 34th anniversary of working at the plant last January. Benny spent quality time with his friends and loved ones. He enjoyed many hobbies and interests, especially NASCAR and NHRA. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Mr. Cottle is survived by his mother, Mrs. Bettie Cottle of Woodbine, his daughters, Mary Francine (Steven) Furstenberg of Yulee, Fl. and Christan Michelle Cottle of Gainesville, Ga.; his sons, Benjamin Thomas (Casey) Cottle, Jr. of Folkston, James Charles (Angel) Cottle of Waynesville and Christopher Michael (Paige) Cottle of Barrigado, Guam; his sister Cheryl Anne (Burwell) Russell of Waverly; his brothers, Davis Edgar Cottle, Jr. of Woodbine, James Frances ‘Jimmy’ (Diane) Cottle of Jacksonville and St. Marys and Wilton Ray Cottle of Naknek, Alaska; his grandchildren, Steven Joseph Furstenberg, III, Katelynn Michelle Furstenberg, Savannah Frances DeLaine Cottle, Benjamin Thomas Cottle, III, Shelby Madelyne Cottle and Sascha Elise Cottle, and his nieces and nephews.
Benny was preceded in passing by his beloved dog and faithful companion, Sugar
Calling hours for Mr. Cottle will be from 6 to 9 PM Thursday, March 22nd, 2012 in the Wainwright Chapel in the funeral home. Funeral services will be held graveside at 11 AM Friday, March 23rd, 2012 in Colesburg Cemetery in Woodbine with Pastor James Price of Celebration Church presiding.
