Mr. Benny Franklin Thompson, age 80 of Griffin, passed away Monday March 12, 2012 at his residence.
Mr. Thompson was born in Lovejoy, Georgia on November 25, 1931 to the late Frank Thompson and the late Bonnie Lou Plumley Thompson. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Robert Thompson. Mr. Thompson was a mechanic for many years with Mead Packaging Company.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Levette Brown Thompson of Griffin; daughters and son-in-law, Patty Thompson of Griffin, Jane and Richard Gallimore of Douglasville, GA; grandson, Brad Gallimore of Douglasville, GA; great grandson, Kross Gallimore; sisters, Geneva O’Dell and Myrtle Thompson of Griffin; niece Toni O’Dell; cousins, Gene and Genie Daniel of Riverdale.
Funeral services for Mr. Benny Thompson will be conducted on Thursday, March 15, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Home. Reverend Hershel Sizemore and Chaplain Jimmie Weathers will officiate. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Wednesday evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
