It is with great sadness that the family of Bernard Joseph “Joe” Ribley announces his passing after a long illness of heart problems. Joe passed away on September 9 th , 2017 at the age of 73 at Baptist Health Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida.
Joe was born March 9 th , 1944 in Lima, Ohio to the late Bernard and Maxine Ribley.
Joe retired from the US Navy after 20 years of service. He worked at James Rivers in St. Marys, Georgia for 10 years. Joe loved spending time with family and friends and had a passion for wood working, fishing and hunting.
Joe will be lovingly remembered and missed by his wife, Debbie of 33 years; his children, Scott (Jody) Ribley of Ohio, Mark Ribley of Ohio, Brett (Theresa) Ribley of Indiana, Mindy (Gene) Murray of Woodbine, Ga.; his 8 grandchildren; his 6 great-grandchildren; his sisters, Alice Suennen of Ohio, and Cheryl (Steve) Briggs of Lima, Ohio; his brother, Doug Ribley of Lima, Ohio; his brothers in law, Robert (Sharon) Hamlin of Kingsland, Ga. and Frank Harris of Folkston, Ga.; and his numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and dear friends.
Calling hours for the family and friends of Mr. Ribley will be from 10 am to 11:15 am on Sunday, September 17 th , 2017 at Coastal Camden Funeral Home in Kingsland, Ga. A funeral service will follow at 11:30 am at the funeral home. Interment will be held at 10 am Saturday, September 23rd, 2017 at Homeland Cemetery, 152 Yankee Forest Drive in Folkston, Ga, 31537. Pallbearers will be Jordan Foddrell, Robbie Hamlin, Dustin Howard, Larry Jackson, Zac Clark, and Tommy Davis. Robert Hamlin, Frank Harris, and Daylin Howard will service as Honorary Pallbearers.
