Betty Bush

Ms. Betty Jo Bush, age 97, passed away on the afternoon of Sunday, June 30th, 2024, in Kingsland, GA.



Ms. Bush was born in Kingsland, GA on May 13th, 1927. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lucian D. Nelson, Sr. and Nellie H. Nelson-Robinson; her stepfather, George Robinson; her husband of 62 years, Brooks Bush; her sisters, Bonnie N. Gum, Thelma Carlton and Lucile McElvery; her brother, Lucian Nelson, Jr., and her sister-in-law, Virginia Forsyth.



She is survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews.



Ms. Bush was an employee of Gilman Paper Company for many years. She was an active member of First Baptist Church Kingsland, where she sang in the choir until age 92 and participated regularly in Sunday School. In her earlier years, she served as an organist and taught Sunday School.



Graveside Services will be held at 10 am Wednesday, July 3rd, 2024, in Oak Grove Cemetery with Pastor Brian Parker presiding.



In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kingsland First Baptist Building Fund or to the donor’s charity of choice.
