Betty Lane

Mrs. Betty Jean Brightwell Lane , 74 of Kingsland passed away at the Senior Care Center of St. Marys, early Saturday morning March 27th, 2010.
Mrs. Lane is a Terrell County native. She was born in Dawson, GA on April 10th, 1935 and is the daughter of the late John Samuel Brightwell and the late Nellie Urquhart. Mrs. Lane loved to go fishing anytime-anywhere! She was a photographer and a beautician. Later in life, she went to college and became Registered Nurse. She was the private duty nurse for Mr. A.D. Davis, founder of Winn Dixie. During these times, she raised 4 children. She enjoyed life to the fullest.
Mrs. Lane is survived by her husband, Norris Richard Lane, of Kingsland; her daughters, Barbara (Moreno) Arcilla of St. Marys, and Teri Bailey of Alexandria, VA.; her son, Danny (Edie) Taylor of Witchita Falls, TX; her brother David Urquhart of Selma, NC and her 11 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, Mrs. Lane was preceded in death by her son, Johnny Taylor, and her sisters, Louise Moody and Grace Hudson.
A visitation will be held at Coastal Camden Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 30th, 2010 from 6- 8 PM.
The funeral service will be held in the Wainwright Chapel of the funeral home on Wednesday, March 31st, 2010 at 2 PM with Rev. George Moxley and Rev. Danny Taylor presiding. Pallbearers will be Chris Braddy, Allen Braddy, Shawn Hudson, David Urquhart, Moreno Arcilla, and Danny Taylor. Honorary Pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in St. Marys.
