Betty Strickland

Mrs. Betty Ribbon Strickland , age 76 of Woodbine, Ga. passed away in the early morning hours of Wednesday, January 11 th , 2017 at Hospice of the Golden Isles in Brunswick, Ga.
Mrs. Strickland was born in Camden County, Ga. in White Oak on February 25 th , 1940. She is the daughter of the late Miney & Mary Ellen Miller Ribbon.
Mrs. Strickland was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was always there when to listen and loved to talk to everyone. In her younger days she enjoyed dancing and having a good time with friends and family. She was a very strong woman who had been through a lot in her lifetime. Her house was always neat and tidy and you could practically eat off of her floor. When she wasn’t taking care of her family or cleaning the house, she would go shopping. She loved her family more than anything and they loved her just as much. She will be missed greatly by those who knew and loved her.
Mrs. Strickland is survived by her beloved husband of over 61 years, George Thomas Strickland; her daughters & their husbands, Debbie & Joe Daniels of Waynesville, Ga., Cindy & Dale Drury of White Oak, Ga. and Cheryl & David Tomlinson of Waycross, Ga.; her brother, Norris Ribbon of Nahunta, Ga.; her half-sisters, Libby Hagen and Pam Hendrix both of Brantley County; her 8 grandchildren and 7 great- grandchildren.
Along with her parents, Mrs. Strickland joins her son, Tommy Strickland, her brothers, Albert and Melvin Ribbon and half-brothers, Marty and George “Hot shot” Ammons in Heaven.
Graveside services for Mrs. Strickland will be held at 11 am, Friday, January 13 th , 2017 at Homeward Cemetery on Hwy 110 in Waverly, Ga. with Pastor Eddie Rawls presiding.
