Mrs. Bobbie Ellen Montgomery , age 69 of Tallahassee, Fl. passed away in the early morning hours of Saturday, March 9th, 2013 at her son’s residence in Jacksonville.
Mrs. Montgomery was born in Brunswick, Ga. on March 27th, 1943. She is the daughter of the late Ray and Bessie Drury Wilkes. Mrs. Montgomery worked in the food and beverage industry until she became disabled. She was recently married to Gerald L. Montgomery. Her family shared that “Bobbi was a beloved mother and wife, who was well loved and respected. She loved God, her kids and her grandkids. She was a good mother and was always there for her children, even if to just to lend a shoulder, or an ear. She loved people, had a heart of gold and tried her best to make people happy. Being a waitress most of her life was not easy, but she worked hard. Bobbie was a very special person, who touched lives everywhere she went. She will be dearly missed. May she rest in peace.”
Mrs. Montgomery is survived by her husband, Gerald L. Montgomery; her daughters, Debbi (Rick) Harvey of Jacksonville, Fl. and Sherry Owen of Tallahassee, Fl., her sons, Ronald A. (Angie) Clemons of Ocala, Fl., James F. ‘Jimmy’ (Tabitha) Clemons and Gerald L. Montgomery, Jr. all of Jacksonville, Fl. and William A. Clemons of Tallahassee, Fl.; her sister, Sharon (Bill) Rogers of Ludowici, Ga.; her brothers, Charles (Carolyn) Wilkes of Fernandina Beach, Fl. And Barry (Janell) Wilkes of Hinesville, Ga.; her grandchildren, John and Lee Clemons, Steven and Bobby Anderson, James Clemons, Jr., Alyssa Marie, Ashley Nicole, and Jaiden Layne Clemons and Jessica Montgomery; plus numerous great grandchildren.
Calling hours for Mrs. Montgomery’s family will be from 7 to 9 PM, Monday, March 11th, 2013 in the funeral home. Funeral services will be held graveside at 12 noon, Tuesday, March 12th, 2013 in Lawnwood Cemetery in Kingsland, Ga. with Pastor Joe Perry presiding.
The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorial donations be made to the funeral home to help retire the balance.
