Mrs. Bonnie Elaine Unangst , age 58 of St. Marys, Ga. passed away in the early morning hours of Friday, September 1st, 2017 at Southeast Georgia Health System in St. Marys, Ga.
Mrs. Unangst was born on November 28th, 1958 in Griffin, Ga. She is the daughter of Byron Brown and the late Marvina Taylor Miller.
Her husband, Jim, said of her, “Bonnie’s life was a good life. Her journey through this life was to put a smile on everybody’s faces. She was a waitress and a people person. Her classmates knew her was Bonnie Brown the Class Clown and her daddy called her Bonnie B. She was a Holy Ghost filled woman, feared God and loved Jesus. Every day she woke up, I would hear her say, thank you Father for another day. She was always looking out for the well-being of others. She loved her family, her dogs, Buddy Love Taylor, Sheeba, Cammy. My wife of 40 years as of August 13 th , my best friend, my help-meet, mother of my children, grandmother to our grandchildren. We will miss her, but if we stay faithful to God, we will see her again. On September 1 st , Jesus came by and said come with me Ms. Bonnie, it is time, Heaven awaits. We will love and miss you.”
Mrs. Unangst is survived by her beloved husband of 40 years, James “Jim” Unangst; her sons, Stanley Unangst of St. Marys, Ga., Stephen (Elizabeth) Unangst of Woodbine, Ga. and Stewart Unangst of Locust Grove, Ga.; her sister, Beth (Darryl) Griffis of Kingsland, Ga.; her brothers, Bradley Brown of Kingsland, Ga. and Chuck Standard of McDonough, Ga.; her grandchildren, Kara Ferguson of Zebulon, Ga. and Gaje Unangst of Woodbine, Ga. ;her father, Byron Brown (Jean) of Griffin, Ga.; her mother in law, Juanita Taylor of Folkston, Ga. and a host of nieces, nephews and other extended family.
Calling hours for the Unangst family will be from 7 to 9 pm on Tuesday, September 5 th , 2017 at Coastal Camden Funeral Home in Kingsland, Ga. A graveside service will be held at 2 pm Wednesday, September 6 th , 2017 in Locust Grove City Cemetery in Locust Grove, Ga. with Rev. Samuel Latta presiding. Pallbearers will be her sons, Stanley, Stephen & Stewart Unangst and her brothers, Bradley Brown and Chuck Standard.
