Carl Akers

Mr. Carl “Bill” William Akers, age 75, passed away on the afternoon of Thursday, April 8th, 2021 at his home in Kingsland, Ga.

Mr. Akers was born on May 9th, 1945 in Charleston, Wv. to the late Lester Earl Akers and Gwendolya Norris Fink. Young Bill’s mom subsequently remarried Charles Leroy Fink, to whom Bill affectionately called “Dad”. Mr. Akers was a US Army Veteran. After serving in the military, he started working at USPS as a mail carrier and eventually retired. In his spare time, he loved hunting and fishing.

Mr. Akers is survived by his fiancé, Cathleen C. Holt of Kingsland, Ga.; his children, Connie Jo “Jodi” (Kevin) Holzhauser of Bentonville, Va., and Carrie L. (Aaron) Harvey of Middletown, Va.; his brother, C.W. (Vicki) Fink of Imperial Beach, Ca.; and his grandchildren, Amber, Chris, Laura, Samm, Jill, Kaden, Taylor, Mikayla, Jack, Grace, and Will; his 14 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Akers was predeceased by his Mom, Dad, and his brothers, Steve Fink and Bob Fink.

Funeral Services for Mr. Akers will be at 4 pm Sunday, April 18th, 2021 at Hidden Treasures Assembly in Kingsland, Ga. with Pastor Rick Arreola presiding. The family will receive friends from 3 pm to 4 pm before the service.
