Carolyn Dowling

Mrs. Carolyn June Dowling , age 85 of Woodbine, GA passed away on the afternoon of Sunday, March 13th, 2016 at the Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick, GA.
Mrs. Dowling was born November 6th, 1930 in Blackshear, GA to the late William and Alice Mae Jacobs Lynn.
Mrs. Dowling married her beloved husband, Randall Arthur Dowling, on September 19th, 1947 in Waycross, GA. She enjoyed spending time with him, including going fishing, oystering, and shrimping. Together, they had three sons, whom she cherished. She also accepted, embraced and adopted her sons’ wives as her own daughters. She adored her grandchildren and loved spending time with each one. In her spare time, Mrs. Dowling loved growing flowers, working in her garden, traveling, and reading. She especially loved cooking for her family, friends, church and community. She would use the Guardian Ware, Cast Iron Cookware and other kitchen ware that she had collected over the years. She was great at giving to others. Mrs. Dowling had so much love for her entire family and she will be greatly missed by everyone.
Mrs. Dowling is survived by her beloved husband, Randall A. Dowling, of Woodbine, GA. ; her sons, Richard Dowling of Jacksonville, Fl. and Dr. Bill (Vida) Dowling, of Savannah, GA.; her daughter in law, Diane Dowling of Kingsland, GA.; her sister, Betty Dowling of Blackshear, GA.; her brothers, James (Raydeen) Lynn of Bradenton, FL., David (Regina) Lynn of Patterson, GA., and Lee (Juanita) Lynn of Waycross, GA.; her grandchildren, Nicole Dowling of Chicago, IL., Thomas Blalock of Brunswick, GA., Ashley Blalock, Steven (Rebel) Blalock, all of Kingsland, GA., Andrew (Katie) Dowling of Jacksonville, FL., Joshua Dowling of St. George, GA., Dr. Blair (Jonathan) Sullivan of Raleigh, NC, Ashley (Clint) Hammond of Merritt Island, FL., and Caitlin Dowling of Nashville, TN.; and her 15 great grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Mrs. Dowling was preceded in passing by her son, John Randall Dowling; her sisters, Joyce Lynn, Carrie Dubberly, and Corrine Gill, her brothers, Wilber Lynn, Robert Lynn, and Dan Lynn, and her daughter in law, JoAnn Dowling.
Calling hours for Mrs. Dowling will be from 9:30 am to 10:30 am Friday, March 18th, 2016 at the funeral home. A service will immediately follow in the Woods- Wainwright Chapel of the funeral home. Interment will be held privately at Greenlawn Cemetery in Waycross, GA.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the donors’ choice organization in Mrs. Dowling’s name.
