Charles Cooper

January 27, 1950 — June 28, 2013

Charles Proctor Cooper, III, known simply as “Biff”, of Newnan, GA passed away at age 63 following a valiant struggle with prostate cancer on Friday, June 28, 2013. Biff was born in Buffalo, NY on January 27, 1950. He previously resided in Ft. Lauderdale, FL where he met his beautiful wife Jeanne of 35 years: Manitoba, Canada where his 3 sons were born; and finally to Newnan where his sons were raised and where he served as President and CEO of Cooper and Sons Electric, Inc.

He was preceded in death by his parents Charles P. Cooper Jr and Mary Ellen Curme and his eldest son, Charles Proctor Cooper IV, and is survived by his wife Valory Jeanne Cooper of Newnan, GA; sons, Stephen Benjamin Cooper of Newnan, GA and Andrew John Cooper of Washington, D.C; daughter-in-law Jennifer Ann Cooper and granddaughters Chloe Peyton Cooper and Callista Riley Cooper of Jacksonville, FL; brother Duncan Cooper and his wife Joyce Cooper of Martha’s Vineyard, MA; sister Amy Reece and her husband Doug Reece of Martha’s Vineyard, MA; and brother Mac Cooper and his wife Mary of Avondale, RI.

Biff’s first and foremost love was Jesus. Second was his family- he dedicated his 13 year electrical contracting business and life to his wife and three sons. Through his business and ministry, he touched the lives of so many by raising his sons to be God-fearing men, giving others a second chance through employment and mentoring, and always treating everyone from customers to contractors honestly, respectfully, and fairly.

Biff’s life took him from studies and a stellar tennis career at the University of Virginia to welding bridges in Winnipeg, Manitoba, to the tennis courts of Martha’s Vineyard and finally into the homes of so many in the Metro-Atlanta area. Biff loved to play tennis, golf, and any activity that involved his sons and wife. Anyone he knew became a life-long friend and never was an enemy made.
