Charles Ingerson

Charles (Chuck) Joseph Ingerson, Master Sgt US Army, retired, passed away in Kingsland on 28 Oct 2019. He was born 16 December 1944 in Rochester, New York, the son of Joseph Ingerson & Flora (Peri) Boire. Contracting Officer; Cost and Price Analyst; Ethics Officer; Small Business Advocate; Grants Administrator; Contract Specialist for Department of Defense Kings Bay Naval Base and in Frederick, Maryland. He served as a Senior Instructor Non Commissioned Officer-NCO Academy, Rochester, New York. He also served in the world of Intelligence following his honorable service within the USN. Honors and Achievements include graduate of State University of New York, Oneonta with Pi Gamma Mu- National Honor Society honors in History and English; greater Rochester NY Chamber of Commerce, President- Irondequoit Chapter; National Contracts Management Association (NCMA) Fellow with multiple published articles; long and distinguished employment in Secondary Education- State of NY with Advanced Professional Certificate, and College Professor- State of Maryland. Chuck was especially known for his devotion to the International Red Cross, for whom he served over 60 years in the Philippines and USA. He was a motivational speaker, business owner, Founder and President for Vietnam Veteran College Students, avid wildlife photographer, prolific writer of prose and poetry, as well as a World Competitive Yacht racing sailor. An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served as Sunday School President, Kingsland GA Stake High Council greater than 20 years, and employment specialist for his Ward. Chuck was predeceased by his parents, leaving behind his spouse Joyce Rider of 50 years marriage in addition to two sons: Doctors Marc-Charles (Sarah) Ingerson, Provo, Utah; Morgen (Katherine) Ingerson, Athens, GA; three grandchildren and three siblings: Terry, Joanne and Heather. He is also survived by many friends from all walks of life. No funeral will be held at request. A simple military service will be held at his resting place of Utah Veterans Cemetery, Bluffdale, Utah.
