Christen Pacheco

Christen Robert Pacheco, a beloved son, husband, brother, uncle, nephew and cherished friend passed away on March 8, 2025, in Kingsland, Georgia.  He was born on January 25, 1975in Queens, New York and spent his formative years in Kingston, Pennsylvania.

Christen is survived by his wife Samantha Highley, mother Nancy Opet, sister Maraya Slaff (Randy),

nephew and niece Nicholas & Isabelle, many aunts, uncles, cousins. And his dearest friends who were family, Juliette Osborne, Calvin, Riley, Dylan and Cas Mollien, Nadia Bellagamba Kai, Maxim.

He is preceded in death by his father Joseph Pacheco, step-father William Opet and both paternal and maternal grandparents

Christen was a well-traveled adventurous soul.  He loved rock climbing and scuba diving. He enjoyed giving back to the community by spending many afternoons as a judge for climbing competitions and volunteering at his local nonprofit climbing gym run, by an all-volunteer staff. He loved spending time on his boat, but being in the water was where he was happiest. Hunting for shark teeth, catching lobsters or snapping pictures of the underwater paradise was his happy-place.

Christen never met a stranger. All who knew him have said, he treated them like they have been friends forever. He was a great story teller, jokester and could talk about anything and everything.  He was quick to offer a helping hand and always gave all he had to help a friend in need.  As a loving uncle, he never missed an opportunity to join his niece for a round of gorilla tag. Even though he would be sore for days, he’d jump right back on the oculus every time she called. He also loved listening to her sing while she played the keyboard he gave to her. Christen is missed greatly and his memory will live on with his family and all the friends he considered family.
