Mrs. Clara Bell Pitts, age 91, of Griffin passed away Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at Renaissance Care and Rehab Center.
Mrs. Pitts was born on September 16, 1920 in Anniston, Alabama to the late George Washington Caussey and the late Mary Elizabeth Twilley. She was also preceded in death by Ida Criswell, Buddy Pitts, Joann Robinson, Mary Nichols, grandsons, Lin Criswell, Tommy Pitts, and great-grandson Code Hambrick. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her daughter, Dorothy Hortman; grandchildren, Mike and Dee Dee Criswell, Doug and Delores Acree, Steve and Hazel Wilson, Raymond and Dana Hortman, Tony and Lisa Caldwell, Debbie Cotton, Bubba Newman, Bryan and Sherry Sprayberry, Kenneth and Angie English, Kevin and Ann English, Kathy Beavers, Rusty and Katrina Lyle, Robbie and Dewana Brantley; 34 great grandchildren; 40 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Clara Bell Pitts will be conducted Friday, September 7, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Home. Reverend Riley Fenley will officiate. Interment will follow in Mt. Gilead Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Thursday evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
