Ms. Colleen Bernice Crowl , age 61 of Kingsland, passed away in the morning hours of Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family.
Ms. Crowl was born on June 2, 1955 at Providence Hospital in Detroit, Michigan to the late Albert Crowl. She was one of 6 children, with three sisters and two brothers. Ms. Crowl was a loving mother and grandmother and nothing meant more to her than her children and grandchildren. She even had special children by choice, Bryan Dove and Maricruz Wallace and grandchildren, John and Marlon. She loved them with everything she had and fought hard to stay with them as long as she could. Ms. Crowl lost a short battle with lung cancer that spread to her heart and brain with her children, Crystal and George and youngest granddaughter, Aaliyah by her side. Ms. Crowl lost the love of her life, Harry Kelley, in 1987 to an automobile accident and lost her Father, Albert Crowl in 1996 to lung cancer at home. Ms. Crowl retired from being a barmaid and worked retail in many stores and gas stations before becoming disabled in 2001. She loved peacocks, motorcycles, rock and roll, country music, her TV shows and collecting blue cobalt, but she especially loved her family. She cherished every moment she got to spend with each member of her family. She will be missed dearly by those who knew and loved her.
Ms. Crowl is survived by her daughter, Crystal Kelley of Kingsland; her son, George W. Cripps, II of Adrian, MI; her sisters, Claudia (Dennis) Ashby, Carol (Don) Wisner, and Christine Groesser; her brothers, William Crowl and Curtis (April) Crowl; her grandchildren, Tyantiana Chambers, Aaliyah Kelley, and Destyn Rathbun; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband and father, Mrs. Crowl also joins her sister in law Carol Crowl in Heaven.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date by her family.
