Corine High

Mrs. Corine “Medear” High was born December 14, 1926 to the late George Worthy and the late Fannie Mae Smith Worthy Byrd. She departed this life on January 20, 2014 at Christian Ministries Hospice in Griffin, GA.

Mrs. High was a member of Parker Chapel AME Church. She attended Monroe County Public Schools. Corine worked for the Holiday Inn in Forsyth, GA as a housekeeper from 1970 until retiring in 1999. She loved her dogs and cats. They were her children. Corine was united in Holy Marriage to the late James High, Jr. To this union, four children were born.

She leaves to cherish her memories, four daughters, Mrs. Carolyn Robinson (Bobby Dean Robinson) of Milner, GA, Mrs Loretha Ponder (Bryant Ponder) of Culloden, GA, Ms. Lillie Ruth Robinson of Lithia Springs, GA, Ms. Minnie Frances High of Culloden, GA; half-brothers, Mr. Fred Byrd, Mr. Edward Byrd, and Mr. Andred Byrd (Lillian) all of Culloden, GA; one brother-in-law, Mr. John Lee High (Mrs. Mary Lizzie High) of Forsyth, GA.

Funeral services for Mrs. Corine High will be conducted on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 11am at West Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Barnesville, GA. Reverend David Blalock will officiate. Interment will follow in King Hill Cemetery on Old Post Rd. in Culloden. Friends may visit the family from 5pm until 7pm on Friday, January 24, 2014 at the funeral home.
