Mr. Darrell L. Akers, age 46, of Hampton, passed away on Monday, September 18, 2017, at his residence surrounded by family and friends.
Mr. Akers was born on February 5, 1971 in Welch, WV. He made a living as an HVAC Tech for Meeks Heating and Air and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Hampton. He enjoyed music and playing the guitar. He was also a big fan of Dale Earnhardt Sr., NASCAR racing and Chevrolet. He was preceded in death by his mother, Beulah Akers.
Mr. Akers is survived by his wife of 18 years, Stephanie Akers; daughter, Hannah Akers; brothers and sisters-in-law, David Akers ad Sharon, Billy Akers, Jr. and Elisabeth, Michael Akers Sr. and Kim, and Richard Akers and Cathy; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Darrel L. Akers will be held on Friday, September 22, 2017 at 12 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Hampton. Pastor Thad Berry will officiate. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Gardens in Jonesboro. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
