Deborah Jester

Deborah Dianne Holmes Jester entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, February 4, 2014. Deborah was born on December 29, 1951 in Griffin, Georgia to the late Mr. Robert Lawrence, Jr. and Mrs. Annie Grace Holmes Parks. She was educated in the Spalding County School System and Gordon College. Deborah was a 1970 graduate of Fairmont High and First Attendant to Miss Fairmont.

Deborah was employed at the Griffin Police Department as the Police Chief’s Secretary, The Georgia Department of Human Resources in the office of Administrative Appeals as the Senior Secretary in the Fair Hearing Unit DHR, the Senior Secretary to the Commissioner of DHR in Atlanta, GA and the office of Child Support Services in Griffin, GA, prior to her health failing. She was member of the Brown Sugar Social Club.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories, her husband, Clifford (TP) Jester; children, Chrisanthia (John) Jordan of Griffin, Michael J. (Shondonette) Horton, Jr. of Macon; step-children, Karen A. (BJ) Jackson of Griffin, Clifford Lamar (Jackie) Jester of Zebulon, Clifford Lodona (Robin) Jester of Las Vegas; aunt, Leila Taylor; 14 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; a host of close friends and family.

Funeral services for Mrs. Deborah Dianne Holmes Jester will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 2pm in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Veteran’s Section of Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Friday evening from 6pm-8pm at the funeral home.
