Mr. Dennis Dale "Big Mac" McCollough, age 67 of Kingsland, Ga., passed away in the early morning hours of Wednesday, May 5th, 2021.
Mr. McCollough was born on March 17th, 1954 in Folkston, Ga. to the late Richard and Lucille McCollough.
Big Mac was a lifelong resident of Camden County. As a graduate of Camden County High School, Class of 1972, Dennis was a proud CCHS Wildcat football player and avid fan. After high school, he owned a variety of small businesses with his father, including Midtown Motors in St. Marys, Ga. In, 1989 Dennis went to work at Bennett Chevrolet and in 2019 retired as a Certified Used Car Manager. Big Mac enjoyed working for his many customers and developed lifelong relationships with many. He was a member of Kingsland First Baptist Church and was an active member of his Sunday School class. Always the jokester, he liked to play pranks on his family, friends, and colleagues. His many hobbies and interests included: tinkering with cars and motorcycles, collecting NASCAR models, flying model airplanes, and drag racing (many of his friends will remember the bright yellow Heavy Hauler). During the 27 years of their marriage, Dennis and Kay enjoyed their fellowship with the Gold Wing Road Riders Association, serving in several leadership capacities and putting many miles on their motorcycle. Camping was another important part of his life enjoying spending time with family and friends. He will be remembered for his jovial, kind, and generous nature.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Linda Kay McCollough of Kingsland, Ga.; his brother, Norman (Paula) McCollough of Colleyville, Tx. and his sister-in-law, Elaine Osmun of Red Lodge, Mt.; sister-in-law, Laurie McCollough of Nacodoches, Tx.; his nieces, Stephanie McCollough, Lauren (Robert) Migliore, Michelle (Mark) Lansford, and Marti McCollough; and his great-nieces, Mandy and Molly Lansford; sister in law, Anna (Robert) Sullivan, Phyllis (Andy) Ray, and brother in law Norman (Candy) Shaw; nephews, Connor, Ethan, and Daniel Sullivan; nieces, Katherine Sullivan, Brooke (Devin) Watson, Megan (Brandon) Beckerman, Stephanie Ray, Tara Faith, and Natalie Shaw; great nephew and niece, Rex and Nova Watson; and his two Boston Terriers, Abby and Buster Brown.
Visitation with family and friends will be held from 1 to 2 pm at Kingsland First Baptist Church with Funeral Services to follow at 2:30 pm Tuesday, May 11th, 2021 with Pastor Brian Parker and Reverend Vernon Dillingham presiding. Inurnment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in St. Marys, Ga.
