Mrs. Doris Louise Davis
December 21, 1935 – March 13, 2015

Mrs. Doris Louise Davis, age 79, of Griffin, Ga. passed away on Friday, March 13, 2015, at her residence.

Mrs. Dorothy Louise Davis (Doris), daughter of the late John L. White (Red) and Naomi Tuggle White, was born on December 21, 1935 in Griffin, GA. She was married to the late John H. Holland, Sr. in which two children were born. Later, she remarried Joseph W. Davis, Sr., who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death are her two sisters, Ruby Gay and Christine White; and one brother, John. L. White, Jr.

Mother Doris worked as a housekeeper for many years in the Birdie Community including County Line United Methodist Church, until her health started failing.

On March 13, 2015, God called her home. She leaves seven children and their spouses to mourn her death; John H. and Linda Holland, Jr. of Columbus, OH, Mae Doris Bass of Griffin, Randy J. and Sandra Lyons Sr. of Forest Park, Annette Holland, Sandra Holland and Lorenzo Jordan, Tammy Davis and Michael Jackson, Joseph W. and Adrian Davis, Jr., all of Griffin; a very special nephew, Tony White of Hampton, GA; two brothers, Andrew White (AJ) of Cleveland, OH and Reverend Jessie L. and Annie White of Griffin; and one sister, Lizzie White of Griffin; 10 grandchildren ; 16 great grandchildren; 1 great great granchild; many nieces, nephews and special friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Doris Louise Davis will be conducted on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home. Her brother Reverend Jessie L. White will offer the eulogy. Interment will follow in Griffin Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday evening from 6pm until 8pm at the funeral home.
