Mr. Douglas E. Hudgins, age 70, of Griffin, GA passed away on Friday, July 15, 2016 at his residence.

Mr. Hudgins was born on January 10, 1946 in Griffin, GA to the late Walter Edward Hudgins and the late Ruth Irene Burdette Hudgins. He retired with 33 years of service from Norfolk Southern Railway where he worked as a locomotive engineer and was an active member of the First Assembly of God in Griffin.

Mr. Hudgins is survived by his wife, Susan Hudgins; daughters and sons-in-law, Dale Ammons and Harold, and Mandy Askew and Chad; son and daughter-in-law, Micah Hudgins and Rachel; grandchildren, Nicole Ammons, Trysten Warr, Windsor Claire Askew and Gracie Askew; sister and brother-in-law, Carlene Hudgins Hemphill and Johnny; nieces and nephew; Julie Hemphill and John Hemphill, and great-nephew, Peyton.

Funeral services for Mr. Douglas E. Hudgins will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Westwood Gardens. Friends may visit with the family Tuesday evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
