Ella Drury

Mrs. Ella Mae Drury , age 74 of the Old Red Bluff Road community in White Oak, Ga., passed away at her residence on the evening of Sunday, January 15th, 2012.
Mrs. Drury was born on March 8th, 1937 in Kingsland, Ga. She is the daughter of the late Millard Clifton and Mildred Peeples Smith. Mrs. Drury is a life long resident of Camden County. She was a loving mother and housewife. One of her more remembered pastimes was to ask someone for a dollar and fold it into an origami style shirt. As she would present the finished item back, Mrs. Drury would offer that “The dollar in your pocket is a shirt on your back”. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Mrs. Drury is survived by her children, Cindy (Shane) D. Kennedy of White Oak, Belinda (Johnny) Cook of Hortense and Alan (Patricia) Drury of Blackshear; her sister, Elsie S. Miller of Eatonton; her brother in law, Buddy White of Fernandina Beach, Fl.; her grandchildren, Sonya (Joey) Walker, Craig Horne, Robbie (Kim) Browning, Chad (Danielle) Drury, Jenna Drury, Drew Peacock, and Jordan Peacock; and several great grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Mrs. Drury was preceded in passing by her beloved husband, Stanley Arward Drury, and her sisters, Aldaria Jesinghaus and Frances White.
Calling hours for Mrs. Drury will be held from 6 to 8 PM Thursday, January 19th, 2012 in the funeral home. Funeral services will be held graveside at 2 PM Friday, January 20th, 2012 at Burnt Fort Cemetery with Pastor Danny Grace presiding.
In lieu of flowers the family asks memorial contributions to be made in her honor to Hospice of the Golden Isles/ 1692 Glynco Pkwy., Brunswick, Ga. 31525.
