Emma Turner

Mrs. Emma Lou Hardy Turner, age 92, of Griffin, GA passed away Friday, October 16, 2015 at her residence.
Mrs. Turner was born in Brooks, GA on April 20, 1923 to the late Walter Hardy and Lois Rawls Hardy. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Clarence Turner, Jr., son, Wiley C. Turner and her sister, Helen Kendrick. Mrs. Turner attended Carver Road Baptist Church.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Robert Cline and Joyce Bethune Turner of Griffin; daughter and son-in-law, Emily James-Lesser and Reverend Art Lesser III of Ellijay, Ga.; grandchildren, Robert C. Turner, Jr. and his wife Janet, Christopher Lee Turner, and Michael Todd James and his wife Nicci; great grandchildren, Bobby, Ryan, Kyle, Kandace, Dustin and Devin; sister, Montez Geer of Texas; and brother and sister-in-law, Buddy and Peggy Hardy of Jackson.
A funeral service for Mrs. Emma Lou Turner will be held on Sunday, October 18, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at Carver Road Baptist Church. Reverend Tom Summers will officiate. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Turner will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service.
