Mrs. Erma Odine Cauthen Kitchens, age 94, of Griffin, GA, passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at Brightmoor Nursing Center.
Mrs. Kitchens was born on July 8, 1919 to the late William Benjamin Cauthen and the late Sadie Lou Ballard Cauthen. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lester Kitchens. Mrs. Kitchens was employed with Dundee Mills in the bleachery for many years. She was a member of Devotie Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, Wayne Kitchens of Griffin; grandchildren, Stephanie Brooks of Prairieville, LA, Benjamin Kitchens and his wife, Stephanie of Griffin; great-grandchildren, Reid Brooks, Gapp Brooks, Halee Kitchens, and Kamden Kitchens.
Graveside services for Mrs. Erma Kitchens will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at 1pm in Oak Hill Cemetery. Reverend Jered Day will officiate. Friends may visit the family on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 from 6-8pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Bond of Love Sunday School Class at Devotie Baptist Church, 1355 Experiment St. Griffin, GA 30223.
