Ernest Hattaway

TSGT Ernest R. Hattaway, age 89, of Kingsland, GA, passed away Sunday, June 18th, 2023, at his home in Kingsland.

TSGT Hattaway was born in Boynton Beach, FL, on December 21st, 1933. He was the son of the late Ruby P. Hattaway (nee Gibson) and Daniel J. Hattaway. After serving in the U. S. Navy for four years, TSGT Hattaway enlisted in the U. S. Air Force. He was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars, and he served more than 21 years before retiring. He was also a retired real estate broker and ordained minister with Iglesia de la Palabra Viviente in Lineville, AL. Some of his pastimes included world travel, rides to the coast, and studying the Bible. As a youth, he was an avid hunter, fisherman, photographer, and boxer.

TSGT Hattaway is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Audrey J. Hattaway (his wife of 59 years), and his son, Gerald W. Hattaway. He is survived by his loving wife, Flordeliz Hattaway of Kingsland, his children, Mr. Daniel E. Hattaway of Knoxville, TN; Mr. Marvin C. Hattaway of Knoxville, TN; Dr. Pamela A. Wisecup (Robert) of Danielsville, GA; Mr. Timothy D. Hattaway (Veronica) of Waycross, GA; and Reverend James W. Hattaway (Eva) of Lineville, AL; stepchildren, Divine Grace Esquivel (Ric Benzon) of San Jose City, Nueva Ecija, The Philippines; Milrose Aspiras (Adrian) of San Jose City, Nueva Ecija, The Philippines; and Christian Gagabi of San Jose City, Nueva Ecija, The Philippines. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 22nd, 2023, at Coastal Camden Funeral Home, 935 East King Avenue, Kingsland, GA 31548, with Reverend James W. Hattaway officiating. Pallbearers will be sons, grandsons, and friends.

Graveside interment services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 22nd, 2023, at the Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL, 32218 with Reverend James W. Hattaway officiating.
