Mr. Ernest Lee “Buddy” Walker, Jr. , 62 of the Harriett’s Bluff community in Woodbine, Ga. passed away at his residence after a short battle with cancer on the afternoon of Thursday, August 4th, 2011 surrounded by his family.
Mr. Walker was born February 4th, 1949 in Burlington, North Carolina. He is the son of the late Ernest Lee and Nell Dunnagan Walker, Sr. Mr. Walker was a proud veteran of the US Navy and has traveled the world over, with over 25 years of military service. He enjoyed cooking, traveling, camping and most of all spending times with his family and friends. Mr. Walker was a Christian of the Presbyterian faith. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Mr. Walker is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Donna E. Walker of Woodbine; his children, Heather Renee (Dutch) Fayard of Shady Shores, Texas and Ernest ‘Lee’ (Marjorie) Walker, III of New Bern, N. Carolina; his sisters, Charma (Jack) Pickett of Charleston, S. Carolina, Karen (Jerry) Sullivan of Jacksonville, Fl., and Cindy (Jim) Horne of Burlington, N. Carolina.; his brother, Mark (Beth) Walker of Graham, N. Carolina; his grandchildren, Bailee, Kinzee and Sydnee Walker and Riley and Walker Fayard, plus numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be held starting at 2 pm, Sunday August 7th, 2011 in the Wainwright Chapel in the funeral home. US Navy military honors will be rendered at a later date, as he requested to be buried at sea.
Memorial contributions are requested to be made to the Heartland Hospice Memorial Fund, 333 N. Summit Street, Toledo, Ohio  43604.
