Mr. Gary Duffee, Sr., age 72, of Griffin, GA, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at Brightmoor Hospice.
Mr. Duffee was born in Atlanta, GA on December 20, 1942, to the late Herbert Moody Duffee and the late Eleanor Pitts Duffee. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. When he was younger, he enjoyed golfing, hunting and riding motorcycles, but in his later years, his passion became spending time with his grandsons.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Betty Sue Rogers Duffee of Griffin; sons and daughters-in-law, Donald Gary and Debora Duffee, Jr. of Dallas, TX, Randy and Tiffany Duffee of Cumming, GA; grandsons, Elijah and Micah Duffee; brother and sister-in-law, Herbert and Judy Duffee, Jr. of Longwood, FL; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Nita and Larry Rucker of Hampton, GA; several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Gary’s home going will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. Pastor Fred Thompson and Harvey Wilson will lead the celebration. Friends may visit with family from 1:00 pm until the service hour at the church. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the American Cancer Society, 301 Kelly Drive, Peachtree City, GA 30269 or Mt. Gilead Baptist Church, 14550 U.S. 19, Griffin, GA 30224 in memory of Mr. Duffee.
