Gertrude Griffin

Mrs. Gertrude Cash Griffin, age 97 of Griffin, GA, passed away on April 21, 2014 at Westbury Medical Care Home in Jackson.

Mrs. Griffin was born in Spalding County on July 25, 1916 to the late Will Cash and the late Ophelia Ellis Cash. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Zack L. Griffin; son, Gary T. Griffin; sisters, Ruby Tenney, Alberta Calhoun, Clovis Thomas; brothers, Ellis Cash, Clinton Cash, Aaron Cash, and Albert Cash, all of Griffin. Mrs. Griffin was a member of First Assembly of God for many years.

Mrs. Griffin is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Ima Griffin of Griffin; one daughter and son-in-law, Faye and Wendell Chappell of Griffin; sister-in-law, Eva Mae Manley of Griffin; grandchildren, Steve (Valerie) Chappell, Brian (Carrie) Griffin, Chastity Griffin, all of Griffin, Amanda Griffin of SC,; great grandchildren, Nick Chappell, Macy Griffin, Owen Griffin, Andrew Hunter, Blake Griffin, all of Griffin; several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services for Mrs. Gertrude Cash Griffin will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 2pm in Oak Hill Cemetery. Pastor Greg Marsh will officiate. Friends may visit the family on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
