Mr. Guy A. “Tuffy” Williamson, age 75 of Griffin, passed away Tuesday,
February 28, 2012 at Christian Ministries Hospice.
Mr. Williamson was born on April 22, 1936 in Spalding County to the
late Joe D. Williamson Sr. and the late Lula Belle Pruitt Williamson. He
was also preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Rosalie
and Pete Jones. He was a member of Second Baptist Church where he
served for many years as a deacon. He and his wife, Betty also loved
working with church youth. He was a business owner and ran the well-
known Griffin Appliance store for 20 years.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Betty Key Williamson; sons and
daughters-in-law, Randy and Dana Williamson, Doctor Todd and Susan
Williamson, Tim and Melanie Williamson; grandchildren, Jessica (Adam)
Gregory, Montana Williamson, Jeff, Madeline and Lane Williamson;
brothers and sisters-in-law, JD and Thelma Williamson, Ronnie and
Sherry Williamson; nieces, Susan Taylor, Dale (George) Danner,
Kim Santerre, Rosemary Brown; nephews, Greg Williamson, Mike
Williamson, Mickey (Lisa) Jones, Tony (Darlene) Jones; and several great
nieces and nephews.
Memorial services for Mr. Guy “Tuffy” Williamson will be held Sunday,
March 11, 2012 at 2 pm at Second Baptist Church. Dr. David Hill and
Reverend John Nance will officiate. Friends may visit the family from
1:00 pm until the service hour.
