Harry C. Rudulph Jr, was born in Galveston Texas on October 6, 1925. His mother's name was Eva Jeanette Walters and his father was Harry Chevalier Rudulph Sr who eloped from St Mary's Ga, moving to Galveston where Harry grew up at the home on 1514 Eighteenth Street. Harry had a wonderful childhood playing on the streets and seashore of Galveston, fishing, and camping and all the things boys enjoy at that age.
While in his youth Harry worked at the Martini Theater as a usher and enjoyed sharing a room as far back as he could remember with a family friend named Charles Ray.
Harry attended Ball High School from 1940 until 1943. Just prior to leaving for the Navy in 1943 (with his friend O.N. George) his brother Frank Thomas was born on December 4, 1942. In the Navy, Harry traveled from his training in San Diego California to places like China, Korea, and Japan. He received an honorable discharge in April of 1946 and moved to St Mary's Georgia to live with his parents who had sold their grocery store business in Galveston and moved back to St Marys.
In St Marys, Harry met the girl of his dreams - Carole K. Lovell who lived up the street from his parents house. After they wed, they shared a trailer on his parents property and later moved into Belle Lovell's small house next to her home when Carole became pregnant with Harry C Rudulph III " Rudy." About two years later to a daughter Gayla Carole Rudulph was born and they had a house built nearby. Harry working various jobs in St Marys, including 9 years as a scale clerk at the Paper Mill.
In 1960 the family eventually found their way to Orlando Florida to their permanent family home at 225 Halsey Street which was their home for 57 years, and son Rudy lives there today. Harry found employment with Martin Company in 1960 and worked there as a missle tester working with George Greko, Clair Baker, Harry Cotner and special friend Scott Reeves. During these years Harry & Carole enjoyed attending Holden Heights Baptist Church teaching Sunday School and singing in the choir. Harry and Carole raised their children to know Jesus as their lord and Savior.
They also enjoyed summers along the many beaches spending time with Harry's Brother Tommy and his Wife exploring Florida's beaches, fishing, and a living a quiet family life. Then in 1965 Harry told Carole he felt they were to have one more child and in 1966 daughter Lydia Jeanette Rudulph was born. Lydia proved to be a very big blessing to everyone in the family, and they enjoyed many years together in Orlando sharing the family home with Harry's mom Eva, who lived with the family after Harry's fathers passing.
In 1990 after 30 years Harry Retired from Martin Marietta Corp. Many years passed and after Eva left for heaven and the children grew and left home, Harry & Carole finally became grandparents. Gayla's children were Javin, Robert, and Aaron van Kaam, and Lydia had Ryan, Renee, and Lindsey who being the youngest, shared a special relationship with Harry & Carole. Then in January 2012 Harry witnessed Carole's passing, and after living with numerous health problems and no longer being able to care for himself and his home, he moved in with his daughter Gayla Rudulph van Kaam. From 2018 until his gentle passing on Friday, March 20, 2020 his mind was remarkable clear and just the night before had several lucid conversations with the family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
