James Drury

Mr. James Franklin Drury , age 70 of Old Dixie Highway in White Oak, Ga. passed away unexpectedly in Woodbine, Ga. Saturday morning, August 4th, 2012.
Mr. Drury was born in Woodbine, Ga. on February 16th, 1942. He is the son of the late Burwell and Ethel Miller Drury, Sr.
Mr. Drury graduated from Camden County High School in 1960. He later became a heavy equipment operator for Seaboard Construction Company working from Georgia to Louisiana. Then he worked for the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 474 out of Savannah. Mr. Drury was an avid fisherman and loved to hunt in his early years. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed vegetable gardening and making homemade wine. In his younger years, Mr. Drury attended Woodbine First Baptist Church and has been attending services at Bickley Chapel and White Oak Pentecostal Church for many years now. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Mr. Drury is survived by his beloved daughters, Carla (Stephen, Sr.) Cheek of Woodbine, Carisa “Crissy” Drury of White Oak, Heather (Brandon) Bean of Woodbine, and Holly (Ralph David, Jr.) Douglas of Woodbine ; his brothers, Burwell ( Carolyn) Drury, Jr. of Eastman, George “Pat” (Glenda) Drury of Brunswick and Paul (Alice) Drury of White Oak; and his grandchildren, Stephen Cheek, Jr., Brandon and Casey McManus, Tori Tracey, Heath Bean, and Olivia and Cassia Douglas.
Calling hours for Mr. Drury will be from 6 to 8 pm, Tuesday August 7th, 2012 in the funeral home. Funeral services will be held graveside in Homeward Cemetery in Waverly at 11 AM Wednesday, August 8th, 2012 with Pastor Raymond Drury of the White Oak Pentecostal Church presiding.
