Janet Krepps

September 14, 1958 — November 21, 2012

Janet Dougherty Bolton Krepps, surrounded by family and friends, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 21st. Janet was born on September 14, 1958 to Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Adams Dougherty and grew up on Cabin Creek Golf Course and remained in Griffin the rest of her life.
She was preceded in passing by her father, Ralph A. Dougherty, her brother, Mark Edgar Dougherty and her previous husband, David Maddox Bolton. She is survived by her mother Gracella Dougherty, Husband Arthur C. Krepps III, two sons Hamilton Bolton and Adam Peeples and four stepchildren, Russell Bolton, Brooke Bolton Stortz, Cody Krepps and Katherine Krepps along with their spouses and several grandchildren. Janet’s family also includes Rick and Randy Dougherty and Cathy Dougherty Marshall, along with several in-laws, nieces, nephews and many friends who she considered family.
Janet began her career with Eastern Airlines as a flight attendant. She treated her passengers onboard like it was her party and she never met a stranger. After 10 years she moved on to Griffin Hardware and then later started 1893 Gift House, “Tickled Pink”.
Janet was devoted to her family, friends and puppies. She was always caring and doing for others. She was simplistic, loved to cook, play games and entertain. She was always asking, “What can I do for you today?” She enjoyed her time at Jackson Lake and “lived life, laughed often and loved much”. She fought a courageous battle with cancer for over 9 years with dignity, grace, and a sense of humor. She was always optimistic and thinking of others. Janet touched the lives of many and the legacy she leaves will live on in our hearts forever and a day.
The celebration of her life will be on Friday, November 23rd at 2:00 PM at First United Methodist Church. Reverend Kevin Lobello will officiate. Interment will follow at Cabin Creek Golf Course.
Janet has requested memorial donations to First United Methodist Church, 1401 Maple Drive, Griffin, GA 30224 or The American Cancer Society at P. O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718 or through www.cancer.org.
