Janice Elaine Sherwood, age 62 of Griffin passed away Friday, October 4, 2013 at Spalding Regional Hospital.
Miss Sherwood was born on April 7, 1951 in Griffin, GA to John T. Sherwood and the late Carolyn Gardner Sherwood Mason. She was preceded in death by her sister, Cynthia Sherwood. Ms. Sherwood was employed with the State of Georgia for many years and was a former member of Teamon Baptist Church.
Survivors include her father, John T. Sherwood of Griffin, GA; brothers and sister-in-law, Jamey Lee Sherwood of Orchard Hill, GA and Sam and Connie Hill of Oklahoma; several cousins, aunts; close family friends, Gena Ford and Phyllis Single; caretaker, Danny Clark.
Funeral services for Miss Janice Sherwood will be conducted Monday, October 7, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home. Reverend Kenneth Horton will officiate. Interment will follow in Teamon Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Sunday evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
