Mr. Jerry W. Smith, Sr.
September 8, 1947 – December 13, 2016

Mr. Jerry W. Smith, Sr., age 69, of Milner, GA passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at Eternal Hope Hospice in Griffin.

Mr. Smith was born in Atlanta, GA on September 8, 1947 to late William “Buck” Smith, Sr. and the late Dorothy W. Smith. He was also preceded in death by his sisters Mae Grant and Buckie Innis, and brother Tony Smith. He travelled the country for 50 years as a truck driver, and loved being on the road.

Mr. Smith is survived by his daughters, Connie Spoon and her husband Jeff Chappell, Brenda Smith, and special daughter Wanda Smith and her husband Mike; son, Jerry Smith, Jr.; sisters Herline Jarrell and Nancy Williams; grandsons, William Glen Spoon and Jonathan Taylor Spoon; special nephew John “Ricky” Grant and his wife Geraldine Grant: and a host of other nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Jerry W. Smith, Sr. will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home. Pastor Aaron Watson will officiate. Interment will follow in Teamon Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
