Mr. Jesse Robert Efurd, Sr., age 84 of Williamson, passed away Thursday June 28, 2012 at Westbury Medical Care Home in Jackson, GA.
Mr. Efurd was born in Elba, Alabama on June 28, 1928 to the late Railey Efurd and the late Maude Goff Efurd. Mr. Efurd was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corp having served during the Korean War. He was a meat cutter by trade having worked for Golden’s Grocery.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Gwen and Danny Childs; sons and daughter-in-law, Joseph Efurd, Jesse and Diane Efurd, Jr. of Florida; brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Marie Efurd of Tennessee, sisters and brother-in-law, Dorothy Byram of Alabama, Effie Jo and Collie Turner of Florida; grandchildren, Christopher, Alan, and Sean Efurd, Shannon and Mike Spratt, Maegan and Robert Gardner; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Zoe and Cole Gardner; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services for Mr. Jesse Efurd, Sr. will be conducted Saturday, June 30, 2012 at 12 noon in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Home. Reverend Tom Summers will officiate. Friends may visit the family from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Christian Women’s Center P.O. Box 773 Sunnyside, GA 30284 in memory of Mr. Jesse Efurd, Sr.
