Mr. Jesse J. Richard, age 62, of Griffin, passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2016 at Spalding Regional Hospital.
Mr. Richard was born on December 21, 1953 to the late Daisy Mae McDonald and the late Frank Crowder in Griffin, Georgia. Mr. Richard graduated from Griffin High School and enlisted in the U S Navy on April 12, 1972 and served until April 1978. He worked for many years at Dundee Plant #5 and earned certificates at Griffin Technical Institute in welding and brick masonry.
He leaves to cherish his memory two sons, Jeffery Richard and Darrius Richard of Griffin; two daughters, Nicole Hardy and Dionysus Hardy of Griffin; two sisters, Trena (Quddus Varner) of Jonesboro; Priscilla (George) Elliott of Griffin; three brothers, Tony (Ketchia) Chambers of Hampton, Ricky Chambers of Forsyth, and Marion (Valerie) Richards of Griffin; one uncle, Jesse Bowman of Griffin; special nephew Cordrey Watkins of Griffin; and a host of grandkids.
Funeral services for Mr. Jesse J. Richard will be held Thursday, April 21, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Home. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Interment will be held on Friday morning in Georgia National Cemetery in Canton.
