Joann Vinson

JoAnn Lucille Vinson was born in Jacksonville, Fla., on Sept. 8, 1940. She entered Heaven’s gates on Feb. 8, 2018.
JoAnn was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. She was known for her macaroni and cheese, chicken and rice and potato salad. She also loved shopping, especially at thrift stores.
JoAnn had an unwavering faith in God. She was a member of Lighthouse Church of God for many years. She owned several businesses, including an antique store in Kingsland.
JoAnn was predeceased by her loving husband of 49 years, George Dennis Vinson Sr. and their son, George “Dennis” Vinson Jr.
JoAnn is survived by her three daughters, Kathy Litteral (Bill), Georgann Hewitt (Frank), Julie Carter (Rex) and son-in-law, JP Litteral. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
The family would also like to express their gratitude to Drucilla Lemons, who befriended and helped care for JoAnn during her illness.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at noon Sunday, Feb. 25, at Lighthouse Church of God, 3451 Charlie Smith Highway Sr. in St. Marys.
