Joanne Mahoney

Mrs. Joanne Mickel Mahoney , 77 of Kingsland passed away into the arms of Jesus late Saturday evening May 17th, 2008 at her residence.
Mrs. Mahoney was a native of St. Louis, Missouri. She is the daughter of the lates Manuel and Mollie Kaupin Blanke. As a mother, Mrs. Mahoney channeled her energies into helping her children achieve their academic and career endeavors. She was a food service professional until her retirement. She then devoted her heart and soul towards her grandchildren with loving affection and care. Mrs. Mahoney was an animal lover and collected Barbie dolls as a hobby. She was of the Catholic faith.
Mrs. Mahoney is survived by her children, Ralph Mortier of Kingsland and Terra Jean McCurdy of Norcross; and her grand daughters, Faith Elizabeth, Hope Anne and Joy Katherine Mortier of Kingsland.
A visitation was held Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at the funeral home at 6PM.
A funeral service was held at 4 PM Thursday, May 22nd, 2008 at the Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in St. Marys under the direction of Father Gabe Cumming. A family internment took place at 3 PM Saturday May 24th, 2008 at Eternal Hills Memorial Gardens in Snellville, Georgia.
