Mr. Joe Shelby Ellington, age 66, of Griffin, GA went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, June 28, 2016.
Mr. Ellington was born on September 5, 1949 in Atlanta, GA to the late Willie Joe Ellington and the late Mary Ruby Ellington. He grew up in Forest Park, GA and graduated from Forest Park High School. He retired from Fed Ex with 20 years of service. He enjoyed archery, hunting and being outdoors. He could fix anything and loved working with his hands, and was a dedicated husband and father who was loved by many and cherished by all.
Mr. Ellington is survived by his wife, Susan Ellington; son and daughter-in-law, Zachery Cale Ellington and Amanda; step-daughters, Michele Lee McDougal and Sherri Anne Weeden, step-son and his wife, Clint Douglas McKnight and Tawni; 7 grandchildren; and several cousins.
A memorial visitation for Mr. Joe Shelby Ellington will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the 20th Century House at 4011 Maryland Ave. Little Rock, AR 72204 in memory of Mr. Ellington.
