Mr. Joe King, Jr., age 77 of Locust Grove, GA departed this life on Friday, April 19, 2013.
Joe was born on July 2, 1935 in Spalding County to the late Joe King, Sr. and the late Nellie Lindsey King. He was a devote member of the House of Christ on 350 N. Expressway in Griffin. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Ruby Lee King; sister, Irene Starks O’Neal and brother-in-law, Jonah Starks.
He is survived by son, Pastor Jimmy (Brenda) King of Griffin; daughters, Pauline (Curtis) Reid of McDonough, Annette King of Hampton, Nellie Kate (Albert) Sands of Griffin and Angie (Randy) Dickerson) of Jacksonville, NC; sisters-in-law, Mary Lizzie (Alfonza) Berry of Griffin, and Elesina (Joe) West of Griffin; brother-in-law, Arthur Lee O’ Neal of Griffin; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; special cousin, Berdie Ann McCune of Griffin and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral Services for Mr. Joe King, Jr. will be held Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Bethel Grove CME Church, 603 Wallace Rd., Griffin, GA 30223. Rev. Dr. Valencia T. Jackson will officiate. Interment will in follow Woodard Cemetery.
