Joette Charlene McKinney Gray, age 71 of Kingsland, Ga. passed away on the afternoon of November 21
st
, 2023 in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Gray was born November 30
th
, 1951 in Brunswick, Ga. She was a Camden County High School graduate with the Class of 1969. During her last year of high school, she was a DCT student working with the Kingsland Clinical Laboratory doing pre-marital blood tests. This aspired her to further her career in the medical profession and in 1971 Joette graduated from St Luke’s Hospital/Florida Junior College as a state licensed Phlebotomist. For over 48 years, she continued her career working in various medical and industrial laboratories, while living in Jacksonville, Fl. After her retirement, she moved back home to Kingsland, Ga. Joette was a woman of strength and grace, cherished by her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Heyward and Myrtle Funderburk and in-laws, Glenn and Jean Gray.
Joette is survived by her loving husband, Timothy Gray and devoted little fur baby, Sophie of Kingsland, Ga.; her sisters, Diann Cottle (Jimmy) of St. Mary’s, Ga. and Terri Jo Lance (Ron) of Kingsland, Ga.; her brother-in-law, Steven Gray (Dorothy) of Orlando, Fl.; nieces, Melissa Gibson, Taylor Russell (Burwell), nephews, Tyler and Ryan Gray: and two very special grandnieces, Emma and Sarah Kate Russell.
A celebration of Joette’s life will be held on Sunday, December 3

, 2023 at 3pm in the Kingsland First Methodist Church’s historic sanctuary Visitation will be one hour before.
