Jack Coffey

August 27, 1951 — October 27, 2025

Kingsland

Mr. John “Jack” Joseph Coffey, age 74, passed away on the morning of Monday, October 27th, 2025 at his home in Kingsland, GA. with his loving wife and daughter by his side.

Mr. Coffey was born on August 27th, 1951 in Troy, NY to the late Michael and Marcia Coffey.

He was a devoted husband, a caring father, and a proud G-Pa to his grandson.

Jack will be remembered for his gift of connection and his natural charm — traits that served him well throughout his career as a professional salesman with Culligan, where “Hey, Culligan Man!” became more than a slogan; it was part of who he was. He never met a stranger… except on the rare occasion he did, and even then, it never lasted long.

Jack loved gathering with friends and family around a good fire, swapping stories and sharing laughs. Some of his happiest moments were spent singing karaoke with his daughter — a tradition they started when she was just five years old and continued throughout their lives. To her, his 1977 Stingray Corvette will always stand out as one of his defining “cool factor” memories, a symbol of his fun spirit and the pride he carried in the things he loved.

Jack was deeply proud of his grandson, Robert Shad IV. As “G-pa,” he encouraged Robert to chase his dreams, to stand strong in what he wanted, and to never give up on himself. He made sure Robert always knew he was loved — and that love will stay with him for a lifetime.

Jack was also deeply grateful for his caring, strong, and devoted son-in-law, Robert. He took comfort knowing his daughter was in good hands and always appreciated the love and support Robert provided to the family.

Jack and Andrea first met on a blind date in 1975 — a date they often laughed about, because at the beginning, they couldn’t stand each other. But life had bigger plans. What started with a rocky introduction grew into a bond that lasted a lifetime. They were married on March 26, 1983, beginning more than four decades of partnership, humor, strength, and unwavering love.

Their love showed its truest form during Jack’s final months. From the moment of his cancer diagnosis to the morning he passed just five months later, Andrea never left his side. She cared for him with a devotion that could be felt by everyone around them. In those quiet final moments, she gave him permission to go to heaven — and with the same peace and trust they shared throughout their life together, he went.

Jack’s warmth, humor, and easy way with people will be deeply missed. His stories, his songs, and the love he gave so freely will live on in the hearts of those who knew him — especially in the family he cherished above all else.

Mr. Coffey is survived by his wife, Andrea Coffey of Kingsland, Ga.; his daughter, Shawna (husband, Robert) Shad of Merritt Island, FL.; his grandson, Robert Shad, IV; his sisters, Irma (Robert) Liburdi, Jeanne (Paul) McKeon, and Margaret Barbuto; his brother, Donald Coffey; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Mr. Coffey was also preceded in death by his step-son, Andrew Cestaro.
