Mr. John G. Johnson, age 50, of Griffin, GA passed away Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Brightmoor Hospice.
Mr. Johnson was born on April 23, 1962 to Mrs. Essie Mae Hicks and the late Mr. John David Hicks Sr. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Laverna Hicks Sanders.
John leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Essie Hicks of Flovilla, GA; sisters, Brenda Taylor of Flovilla, GA, Rose Taylor of Griffin, GA, Patricia Johnson of Griffin, GA, Belinda Hicks of Luthersville, GA, Kate Hicks of Flovilla, GA; brother, David Hicks of Griffin, GA; Aunt, Betty Stokes of Griffin, GA; brother-in-law, Arthur Sanders of Forsyth, GA; several nieces and nephews; special nephew, Gregory Hicks; and special friends, Robert Jordan, Lorenzo Jordan, and Alphonso Jordan.
The family would like to give special thanks to godbrothers, Larry Redding and Kenneth Redding; caregivers, Patricia Weems and Sheila Mitchell; godmother, Nellie Ruth Nash; the staff at La Grange Hospital and Brightmoor Hospice and Mother Hazel Weems.
Funeral services for Mr. John G. Johnson will be held Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Home. Minister Ruby Faye Richards will officiate. Interment will follow in Griffin Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit the family on Monday, January 14, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
